ENA Offers New Email Functionality and Enhanced Spam Protection

Posted by Jeremy Roe on Thursday, October 12, 2006

Dear ENA WebMail User,

Thank you for using ENA’s WebMail System. It's our goal to offer you an email experience that allows you to utilize your email for effective communications and improved job performance. ENA is committed to continuously provide product enhancements and upgrades. We have added new features that provide you with greater control of your email and enable you to manage your mail with black list and white list capabilities.

Black list and white list functionality allow you to easily accept or reject all messages from a specific source. By adding a specific email address to your black list, you can block emails from entering your mailbox. Conversely, by adding a specific email address to your white list, you will ensure that all messages from this address are delivered to your email account. The exception would be any message infected with a virus or malicious content. This is an ideal tool to assist in managing the amount of spam messages received in your email box.

These new functionalities were rolled out this week and are available to you now. Whether you use ENA WebMail to access your email, or a mail client such as Outlook, this enhancement will benefit you. These features are not available for accounts that automatically forward email to addresses outside the ENA mail system.

To take advantage of these new features you will need to alter your “Preferences” within your email box. To access and modify your “Preferences” using WebMail, log in to your customer portal Web site, www.ConnecTEN.org and select the link for email.
There are two ways to add email addresses to the white and black lists:

1. Open an existing email. Within the “Options” line, click one of the following selections: “Allow Sender”, “Allow Domain”, “Block Sender” or “Block Domain”.

2. Select “Options” from the top navigation and then select “Spam Filters”. Add a full email address such as johndoe@aol.com, or use an asterisk as a wildcard to block or allow an entire domain, such as *@aol.com.

To view a short demo that focuses on activating and managing these features please visit https://educationnetworks.webex.com/educationnetworks/onstage/tool/record/viewrecording1.php?EventID=387820390.

ENA is providing these enhancements based on customer requests and feedback. Please continue to send us your suggestions and comments on potential service enhancements. We value all feedback and suggestions.

We hope you enjoy these new email features and benefits. Thank you for using ENA’s Mail Services.

Thank You,

The ENA Team
